The most common reason to visit a dentist is for your routine dental examinations. These check-ups are essential to your oral health as it gives us a chance to check over your teeth, gums, cheeks and jaw to make sure that there are no underlying issues.

At Camden Dental, we completely understand that some patients are nervous about visiting their dentist. We do all we can to make the experience positive, keeping you at ease from the moment you step through our door. We make sure there are no barriers preventing you from receiving the care you need to keep your smile healthy and whole for as long as possible.

What do routine check-ups at Camden Dental involve?

Oral health assessment

We carry out a thorough examination that assesses all your teeth, checking their bite surfaces and looking for signs of decay. We also check for signs of gum inflammation which signals the start of gum disease. We don’t just stop at the teeth and gums, making sure that you don’t have any jaw pain or clicking.

Mouth cancer screening

Part of our check-ups involves assessing soft tissues for any anomalies. We look out for any signs of mouth cancer so we can catch any issues quickly.

Dental hygiene help and advice

We provide guidance on how best to keep your teeth and gums clean and healthy at home. We can talk you through brushing techniques and best interdental cleaning practice. For any additional treatment, we can talk through what it will involve and what to expect.

How regularly do I need to see a dentist?

We recommend that you visit your dentist once every six months. Your dentist will advise when is best for the next appointment. If your oral health is in top condition, we may only need to see you once a year.
